HOW DOES JUVÉDERM® WORK?
During treatment, a JUVÉDERM® filler is injected into the treatment area by a licensed specialist using a needle or cannula. JUVÉDERM® fillers add volume to the treatment area. Results with JUVÉDERM® fillers are not permanent, and retreatment is usually needed to maintain your results.
WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a sugar naturally produced by the body that retains moisture in the skin. The main ingredient in JUVÉDERM® fillers is a modified form of HA. JUVÉDERM® fillers temporarily restore volume loss in certain areas of the face and help provide long-lasting, natural-looking results.

The unique Vycross® Technology process cross-links the hyaluronic acid (HA) molecules in these JUVÉDERM® fillers (pictured right), that results in a specialized, smooth gel filler. Each of the six formulas in the JUVÉDERM® Collection of Fillers was studied* across all Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-VI, lightest to darkest.
*The safety of JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® XC with cannula for cheek augmentation has not been established in patients with darker skin (Fitzpatrick Skin Types V and VI).
In the JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® XC clinical study in the chin, the main measure of study success was not met in patients with darker skin, men, or those aged 51.5 years and older, however their satisfaction was still high.
